Movie Life:
I watched Grindhouse -- the old school style double feature Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez collabo which I wanted to see badly, last night. It was everything I had hoped for. The first movie, Planet Terror, was my favorite of the two. When Rose McGowan flies through the air, propelled by her machine gun leg, it's a life-changing experience! Ha. Rose McGowan +10, Freddy Rodriguez +7, Robert Rodriguez +7, Naveen Andrews +4, Fergie +3, Bruce Willis +3, Quentin Tarantino -3 for horrible acting.
I didn't like Death Proof as much, but it was still good. The first half was ok, but after Stuntman Mike kills the first girl and it cuts to more dialogue, I started to lose interest... but then it was all worth it. The car stunts and chase are awesome and when they eventually catch Stuntman Mike it's great. So Quentin Tarantino squeaks out a +5 (despite more horrible acting). Rosario Dawson as "Abernathy" -- great girl's name -- +2, Zoe Bell -- at first I didn't like her, during all the dialogue, but I loved her doing the stunts and then beating the crap out of Kurt Russell with the metal pole!, +5, Vanessa Ferlito +5, Tracie Thoms +2, Rose McGowan +2.
The trailers in before the two movies were funny, as well, especially Werewolf Women Of The SS, or whatever... ha. Rob Zombie +4. Danny Trejo +3 and Cheech Marin +2 for the Machete trailer.
Has any move EVER received more promotion than Semi-Pro? I feel like I can't get away from it... Well, here's some more. +2 to Andre 3000 and Will Ferrell.
