Sunday Life

Basketball, basketball, basketball!   The Sunday schedule is in full gear now, and I was all up on it.

First, I read an SI article focused on the dunk.  This was mentioned there, and it was the first time I'd seen it... so sick.  Taurian "The Air Up There" Fontenette, +7.

Although I hate rooting for the Mavs, I wish they could've pulled it out against the hated Lakers, today.  At least Erick Dampier got in a hard knock on Kobe!  +2.  The play that forced OT was very well executed, including a pass from none other than Jason Kidd (+3)!  Imagine that, Avery... the man is good in the closing minutes!  +3 to Avery for righting his previous wrong, and calling a nice play.  During the same broadcast, Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson +5 each for showing why they are one of the best broadcast teams around.

The third in the national triple-header featured the Nuggets vs. the Rockets.  The Nuggets couldn't get it done on the road, but it was still a pleasure to watch Allen Iverson.  He had one fun play in which he hit a jumper from behind the backboard.  Even though it didn't count, it was still fun.  +4.  It's also fun to see Old Man Mutombo (+1) still doing it, in the wake of Yao's injury.  However, Kenyon Marting got him good tonight, dunking on him on a tip follow, then giving the arena the finger wag!  +3.  T-Mac was truly the star of the show, though, leading his team to a much-needed win, to stay alive in the Playoff hunt.  He had his full game on display.  +3.

The Sports Guy also earns +6 for championing the cause of the Seattle Sonics.  SAVE OUR SONICS!!!

Kristin and I also watched the penultimate episode of The Wire.  It is truly sad to see it coming to end.  The Best TV Show Ever.  Period.  I don't want to run any spoilers, so I'll just list the points:  Bubbs +6, Namond +6, Lester +6, Marlo +4, Clay Davis +3, Bunk +3, Lester another +3,
