NBA Life

Big night in the NBA last night, as it was the last full schedule day before the All-Star break, AKA baskeball Christmas!  For full details, get the L.O.N. perspective.

NBA Life Points:

The more Amir Johnson, Rodney Stuckey and Jason Maxiell play, the more I like the Pistons.  +1 to all, and to Joe Dumars for finding those guys.

I really like Jeff Van Gundy as an announcer.  His personality seems completely opposite of how he appears when coaching.   +3 for his work on the Suns/Warriors game.

Manu Ginobili +3 for 8 3's and 46 points!

Lamar Odom +6 for a triple-double.

Ron Artest +2 for taking over in the fourth quarter... just BULLING his way to the basket.

Boom Dizzle +4 for his game against the Suns -- step back J's, overall game, and a funny post-game interview.

Lil' Monta -- +3 -- 37 points as an offensive juggernaut.

Tough buzzer-beater loss for the Clip Joint against Washington, but still some points:

Sam Cassell and his histrionics -- +1

Al Thornton's good play -- +1

Ralph Lawler's Clippers commentary -- +2

An old video featuring Shaq at his best!  +6.

Miscellaneous:

I came across the mp3 for the Rob & Big classic, Bobby Light's "Dirty Girl"!  I've been rocking the hell out of it -- +5 to each.  Here's the video:

The Clipse returned with their long-awaited street album, We Got It 4 Cheap, Vol. 3.  +5 to Malice, Pusha T, Ab-Liva, Sandman -- I still can't till the difference between Malice and Pusha, nor Ab-Live and Sandman.

Other music:

Gnarls Barkley's new single, "Run", +3 to Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse.

Ras Kass -- "Butterfly Effect", +1.

T-Mo Goodie feat. T.I. -- "Connect Like Dots", +1 each.

B.O.B. feat. Amy Winehouse (it's a sample, but still) -- "Grip Your Body", +1 to the newbie and +3 to Amy.

Blu, +2 for his new one, "My Boy Blu".

And an oldie but goodie, Shaq feat. Peter Gunz, produced by DJ Quik, "The Way It's Going Down",  +3 each.

Bill Simmons +3 for his most recent links article, which included the Shaq flick above, as well as the following:

John Mellencamp wants John McCain to stop playing his songs at this rallies, +1.  And as the reader that submitted this article to Simmons points out, the rest of America wants MELLENCAMP to stop playing it!  Oh, but not me... keep it rolling!

A sick spin move, and even sicker mid-range game. Ladies and gentlemen, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe (+5):

Last but not least, Jim did some point-trolling, by sending me the video of the classic " Will Ferrell as cat" SNL try out.  +3.
